#1 Bode Thomas Street, Surulere

This street is named after the popular politician and Nigeria’s first Minister of Transportation, Chief Bode Thomas.

Bode Thomas Street is located in the heart of Surulere and it features some interesting places. Some of these include Dominos Pizza, Big Fish Restaurant and Magrellos.

The popular film house cinema is also located there. The street is primarily a commercial area with banks like Guaranty Trust Bank, Access Bank, Diamond Bank, Heritage located there.

Other interesting landmarks include the Yudala store, Samsung Shop, DSTV and MTN offices. The street is next to Iponri and it is adjacent another popular street, Adeniran Ogunsanya Street.

#2 Adeniran Ogunsanya Street, Surulere

This is another prominent street in Lagos. It is located in Surulere. The popular Teslim Balogun Stadium is just a few meters from this street.

The street is strictly a commercial area. The Adeniran Ogunsanya Shopping Centre is located on this street. This centre has over 150 shops, one of which is the popular Shoprite. You will also find many of the commercial banks here. These include First Bank, Eco Bank, Zenith, Access Bank and many others.

The street is close to the popular Shitta. Also, you can find interesting places like restaurants, bakeries, boutiques etc.

#3 Toyin Street, Ikeja

Located off Allen Avenue in Ikeja, Toyin Street is another popular street in Lagos. There’s a roundabout that connects Toyin Street to Opebi and Allen Avenue.

Recently, Domino Pizza and Coldstone creamery set up shop on this famous street. Also the Ibis Hotel which is a top destination for foreign expatriates is located on Toyin Street.

As it is with popular streets in Lagos, you will find several commercial banks on Toyin Street. These include Access, Stanbic, Access, Heritage Bank and UBA.

#4 Isaac John Street, Ikeja

Located in Ikeja GRA, Isaac John is one of the famous streets in the Ikeja area of Lagos. The street is next to Onigbongbo and it is approximately 1.6 km in length.

You will find many restaurants, bars and hotel in this area. The popular Protea Hotel is located on Isaac John. Other hotels include Rennaissance and the Berkeley Hotel.

If you’re looking to go on a date and you’re thinking of a good restaurant to visit, you’ll certainly find many options on Isaac John Street. Examples are the Golden Spur, Zen Garden, R Café and Orchid Bistro.

#5 Allen Avenue, Ikeja

Allen Avenue is so popular that there’s a song that was recorded in honour of the street some years ago.

You will find a lot of hotels and pubs stretching the entire length of Allen Avenue. In the 90s and early 2000s, Allen Avenue was quite notorious for prostitution. You can’t drive through this street at night and not find ladies of different shapes and sizes soliciting for sex in exchange for some cash.

The length of the street is 1.36 kilometres. The street is no too far from the popular Alausa which is the seat of many of the ministries in Lagos state.

The popular Mama Cass Cafeteria is also located on Allen Avenue.

#6 Broad Street, Lagos Island

Broad Street is a major commercial hub and it is one of the oldest streets in Lagos. The street offers a unique blend of both modern and ancient architecture.

The street is known as a central business district in the state.

Broad Street is located in Lagos Island and some of the buildings founds on this street include:

#7 Marina, Lagos Island

Marina Street is located in Lagos Island popularly called Isale Eko. The name comes from the location of the street which is close to the Lagos Lagoon. The street isn’t too far from Broad Street.

This street is strictly a commercial hub and you will find the headquarters of many of the Nigerian banks here. These include First Bank, Union Bank, UBA, Sterling Bank etc

There are other medium and large scale businesses that can found on Marina Street. You can also find the Nigerian Ports Authority Office here, Yudala Store, MTN Office and Lagos Island General Hospital on Marina.

Also, Marina Street is not too far from the popular Tafawa Balewa Square

#8 Adeola Odeku, Victoria Island

If you’ve ever visited Victoria Island and you never heard of Adeola Odeku, then you probably didn’t do enough exploration.

Adeola Odeku Street is named after a prominent Nigerian lawyer, Chief Adeola Odeku. The street is approximately 1.77 km in length.

The street is reputed to be one of the most expensive business locations in the city of Lagos. As a matter of fact, annual rent in this area for some offices runs in to tens of millions.

Some of the reputable businesses on Adeola Odeku include Globacom, MTN, Coscharis, Spar, Jade’s place and many commercial banks.

#9 Adetokunbo Ademola, Victoria Island

Also located in Victoria Island, Ademola Adetokunbo Street is named after the former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the country, Sir Adetokunbo Ademola. He was the first indigenous Chief Justice and the first Chancellor of the University of Benin.

One of the most popular landmarks on this street is the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites. Commercial banks like Guaranty Trust Bank and Skye Bank can also be found on this street.

The street has a length of 0.98km

#10 Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island

Named after Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe, a prominent Nigerian Statesman and politician, the street is known to house the Civic Center and Civic Towers. The street has a wide road that links to some major places on the Island

Other prominent places in this area include the Lagoon restaurant, the Nigerian Law School Office and Oriental Hotel. The popular 1004 is also a stonethrow from Ozumba Mbadiwe Street.
