The history of Hewlett-Packard also known as HP can be traced to Palo Alto in California where the company was founded in a one-car garage by Bill Redington Hewlett and Dave Packard.

Between 2007 and 2013, HP was the world’s leading PC manufacturer from 2007 to Q2 2013. It lost that position to Lenovo in the third quarter of 2013.
Basically, HP specializes in the developing and manufacturing computing, data storage, and networking hardware, designing software and delivering services. However, its major product lines included personal computing devices, enterprise and industry standard servers, related storage devices, networking products, softwares and a diverse range of printers and other imaging products.
The company’s products are marketed to households, small to medium-sized businesses and enterprises directly as well as via online distribution, consumer-electronics and office-supply retailers, software partners and major technology vendors. HP also provides services and consulting business around its products and partner products.
In 2015, HP concluded its plans to split the PC and printer business from its enterprise products and services business, a plan which it had earlier announced in October 2014.
As a result, the company now has two publicly traded companies: HP Inc. and Hewlett Packard Enterprise. But in 2017, Hewlett Packard Enterprise spun-off its Enterprises Services division as DXC Technology and its Software division to Micro Focus.
